While mostly made up of panelaky and therefore a turnoff to me, Sporilov has a lot of good points. It's cheap, there's lots of grass and a nice pond that has a tennis center and wine bar, there's video stores and some shopping within walking distance, etc. The pub scene, however, sucks, and you will be at least a 20 minute tram ride or have to take a combination bus/subway to the city center, so you're not likely to pop back and forth between home and your social life. Many people in Sporilov have cars for this reason. If you want to be in a truly Czech neighborhood and live in a place where you will be forced to speak Czech to get by, Sporilov is a nice, safe, family-oriented place to do that. You won't see many foreigners and there aren't any nice old buildings to look at, but this is all reflected in that fact that you can live there quite cheaply.
